They're cheap. I use them with my clippers and they get torn up so easy. Flimsy and mediocre at best.I'm a barber. 40 years... my eyes are getting older, and I wanted to be able to see dark hair against the comb. Most of them are too sharp on the tips, or too thin, only one is useful, but I am still glad I bought the set just for the one. I don't think they are carbon.This is a nice comb set. There are some great options for clipper and shear over comb. I just wish they were a tad more stiff.Very nice, some combs over bend but they are goodFor the price these are actually some pretty good combs.
